Helldivers movie gets a very promising update as the director teases why Jason Momoa was "the only person" to star

Subscribe to our newsletter The Helldivers movie has had a very positive update at CinemaCon.While not much was shared about the upcoming footage game adaptation, it was revealed that director Justin Lin recently met with the devs at Arrowhead in Sweden – and, in a few weeks' time, the film team will head to New Zealand to start work (via IGN)."Helldivers balances satire with humanity...

and the only person who I think can pull this off is Jason Momoa," Lin teased.Article continues below Momoa is set to star in the film, though nothing is known about his role just yet.

The film was first announced in 2025, and it will be based on Helldivers 2, sequel to Helldivers.

The title's story revolves around the titular soldiers under attack from alien creatures on a planet named Super Earth.It's a big year for Momoa already, with the actor debuting as Lobo in Supergirl, and returning as Duncan Idaho in Dune 3."I'm super pumped.
