Only two episodes of Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord have aired so far, but the show has already introduced a new fan-favorite character: Spybot.

Maul's loyal droid companion has been quick to worm his way into the hearts of viewers. "Only two episodes of Maul and I already love this cute little psychopath so much," one fan wrote on Reddit.

"He's delightfully evil! Also, that scene when he flew over to Maul for some scritches, too much!" said another.

"I think my favorite thing about the design is the way the topmost part is fashioned like a wide-brimmed hat, which in moments like the one pictured gives him loads of expression just in itself," noted someone else.

"Very cool droid personality. Not one we see too often," someone else remarked.

"Im a Vario guy, but this guy gets second place," said someone else, referring to one of Janix's crime lords, now working with Maul.

"2boots and his coffee mug has it beat for me," argued someone else. Two-Boots is Brander Lawson's droid partner in the Janix police department, voiced by Richard Ayoade.

The show's action picks up about a year after the events of The Clone Wars (which means it takes place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope), and sees Maul hope to form an unexpected partnership with a young Jedi Padawan named Devon Izara as he tries to rebuild his criminal syndicate and fight back against the Empire.
