A new Arc Raiders patch has been rolled out, fixing a selection of bugs and annoyances in the extraction shooter from Embark Studios. A mismatched sound issue is the topline change, while some combat changes and fixes for Close Scrutiny make up the bulk of the other alterations.

You weren't hearing things from the Rocketeers when engaging them in a firefight; they really were using the wrong alert. This is now fixed, negating any confusion, though a player on Reddit has a particular request: "Bring back the terrifying electro screech!!"

Sounds like fodder for the next patch. Pairs of Trigger 'Nades are nerfed back down to their normal damage, as they were delivering some three times the regular amount for a time. This was causing some, er, disruption for players. "I was extracting and someone through [sic] three at me and I was wondering why it was like one gigantic bomb went off. Instantly dead," says a commenter on Reddit.

Some input problems have been rectified as well: weapons suddenly autofiring has been resolved, and an input delay on items if you swap to them while firing. The latter's been a particular bugbear.

Meanwhile, a couple more exploits in Stella Montis have been tied up. You shouldn't be at risk of getting set on fire from flames inside the Medical Research locked room any more, and that area where you could be shot through the floor has been patched up too.

Several parts of the Close Scrutiny condition are sorted too, including getting the proper spot of an Assessor when you ping one on your map, and some movement problems for Rockets and Vaporizers. It's a pretty substantive list, but if nothing else, at least using 'Nades won't cause a mass explosion any more.

Arc Raiders devs would love to have machine takedowns "like the Hoth invasion scene in Star Wars," and "we could do that if we just had better rope physics"
