Subscribe to our newsletter Xbox has announced another showcase this week, with the world premiere of the next title in the Metro series: Metro 2039.Over the weekend, a series of leaks emerged for a new Metro title, including cutscene and gameplay clips, with the videos titled Metro 2039.
Later in the weekend, Nate The Hate – who is best known for their Nintendo leaks – said on Twitter that there will be an Xbox showcase on April 16, 2026, and that it will be where the new Metro game will be revealed.And now, thanks to a well-timed Xbox Wire post – whether in reaction to the leaks or a planned reveal – we know the Xbox Showcase this week is legit, and we have an official announcement that yes, the next game in the series will be called Metro 2039
